What causes
Cellulite
The dimply texture of Cellulite is caused by a disorder within the
cutaneous and subcutaneous connective tissue. Typically effecting women,
Cellulite results from an increase in the size of adipocytes (fat cells
of the hypodermis) and an accumulation of fluid in the dermis and
hypodermis. As adipocytes get bigger, the envelopes that enclose them
become distorted and pull on their anchor points, creating the
"cottage cheese" effect. The problem gets worse as blood flow
is increasingly impeded, leading to toxin build up, nutrient depletion
and deterioration off the connective gel, which loses its elasticity and
undergoes fibrosis. Because they are so unattractive, these Cellulite
ridden areas tend to be neglected and fail to respond to physical
exercise or the strictest dieting.
